Get comfortable with the uncomfortable.

You want to talk to a therapist who’s real. You need to feel comfortable enough to delicately and safely unravel the confusion as you start to clear things up. You want someone who won’t judge you, but rather supports you with the discomfort that may be ahead in trying to figure out how things have come to this place. Furthermore, you want to talk with someone who isn’t going to sit across from you with a blank expression on their face.

You need someone who is going to be truthful with you, and hold you accountable. You want to be able to talk about yourself with someone who wants to understand you and your perspective. You want someone who is going to be able to have an interactive conversation with you about ways you can support yourself as you move through your life.

Good news.  You want real?

You got it. You want a safe place to be able to be yourself in? It’s here! You want to be able to ugly cry without judgement? No problem! You want to be challenged and supported? You will be! You want to be treated with the respect, dignity, compassion and care that you deserve? I’m your therapist.

Hi, I’m Renée. I have been a counsellor for over a decade now. My work is rooted in social justice with a strengths-based perspective.  What’s strengths based perspective you ask? That’s ‘Social Work” speak for incorporating your inherent strengths in an effort to support you with attaining your goals in therapy. It’s important to me as a therapist to work toward empowering you, validating you, and holding space for your personal story.

Let’s take some time to really step back and objectively look at what’s going on for you. Our work together will help you to re-prioritize your life based on YOUR values, desires, and goals. It’s time to get reacquainted with the things that you value, enjoy, and hold dear. Let’s go ahead and carve out a path toward what feels right for you with your life.
